Balira Flow is a home management application developed and operated by Balira Flow ("we", "us", or "our"). Our website is balira.org and you can reach us at info@balira.org.

This Privacy Policy applies to the Balira Flow mobile application (available on Android and iOS), and the Balira Flow website at balira.org.

2. Information We Collect

2a. Information stored only on your device

The Balira Flow app stores the following data locally on your device only, using your phone's secure local storage (AsyncStorage). This data never leaves your device and is never transmitted to our servers:

• Calendar events and family schedule entries
• Tasks, to-do lists, projects, and work items
• Meal plans and shopping lists
• Cleaning routines and Home Area tasks
• Habit items and completion records
• Maintenance items and reminders
• Family member names (for the family calendar)
• App settings and preferences
• Kids activity records

2b. Email address (newsletter only — optional)

If you choose to subscribe to the Balira Flow newsletter through our website or within the app, we collect your email address. This is entirely optional. We use your email address only to send you the Balira Flow newsletter — tips, updates, and home rhythm inspiration. We never share, sell, or rent your email address to any third party.

You can unsubscribe at any time by clicking the "Unsubscribe" link on our website or emailing us at info@balira.org.

The Balira Flow app uses the following third-party services, which may collect certain information automatically:

Our website (balira.org) does not currently use any analytics cookies or tracking software. We do not use Google Analytics, Facebook Pixel, or similar tools.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect only for the following purposes:

• Newsletter delivery: If you subscribe, we use your email address to send you the Balira Flow newsletter. You can unsubscribe at any time.
• Responding to enquiries: If you contact us by email, we use your email address to reply.
• Displaying advertisements: The free Balira Flow app displays ads served by Google AdMob. We do not directly use your advertising data — this is processed by Google.

We do not use your information for automated decision-making or profiling.

4. Legal Basis for Processing (GDPR)

If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA) or the United Kingdom, our legal basis for collecting and using your personal information is:

• Consent: For newsletter subscriptions — you give us explicit consent when you subscribe. You may withdraw this consent at any time by unsubscribing.
• Legitimate interests: For displaying advertisements in the free app, to support the continued development of Balira Flow.
• Contract performance: For responding to your support requests or enquiries.

5. Data Sharing and Disclosure

We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information to any third party.

We share information only in the following limited circumstances:

• Service providers: Brevo processes newsletter email addresses on our behalf under a data processing agreement. Google processes advertising data through AdMob.
• Legal requirements: We may disclose information if required to do so by law, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Balira Flow, our users, or the public.

6. Data Retention

• App data (local): Stored on your device indefinitely until you delete the app or clear app data. We have no copy of this data.
• Newsletter email: Retained until you unsubscribe or request deletion. Upon unsubscribing, your email address is removed from our active mailing list within 24 hours.
• Support emails: Retained for as long as necessary to resolve your enquiry, typically no longer than 2 years.

7. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have the following rights regarding your personal information:

For all users

• Unsubscribe: Opt out of our newsletter at any time via the unsubscribe link on our website or by emailing info@balira.org.
• Opt out of personalised ads: Use your device's advertising settings (see Section 2c above).
• Delete app data: Uninstall the app or clear app data in your device settings to remove all locally stored data.

For EEA and UK users (GDPR rights)

• Right of access: Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
• Right to rectification: Request correction of inaccurate data.
• Right to erasure ("right to be forgotten"): Request deletion of your personal data.

8. Children's Privacy

Balira Flow is designed for adults managing their family homes. The app is intended for users aged 16 and over.

We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 13 (or under 16 in the EEA/UK). If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us at info@balira.org and we will promptly delete it.

While the app includes features to help parents manage children's activities, the app itself is operated by and for the adult user. No data relating to children is collected or transmitted.

9. Data Security

All app data is stored locally on your device using the operating system's secure local storage. We do not transmit this data to any server.

For email addresses collected through our newsletter, we use Brevo, a reputable email service provider that implements industry-standard security measures.

No method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is 100% secure. While we take reasonable steps to protect your information, we cannot guarantee absolute security.

10. International Data Transfers

If you subscribe to our newsletter, your email address is processed by Brevo, whose servers may be located outside your country of residence. Brevo complies with applicable data protection laws, including GDPR, through Standard Contractual Clauses and other appropriate safeguards.

Google AdMob may also process advertising data outside your country. Google's data transfers are governed by their own privacy policy and compliance frameworks.

11. App Store Platform Data

When you download Balira Flow from the Google Play Store or Apple App Store, the respective platform may collect information about your download and device. This data is collected and processed by Google or Apple under their own privacy policies:

We do not have access to the data these platforms collect about you.

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in the app, our practices, or applicable law. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, notify newsletter subscribers by email.

We encourage you to review this page periodically. Continued use of the app after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
